VENICE CITY SIGHTSEEING
An enchanting panoramic tour over the history of St. Mark’s square and its main monuments; You will visit the Cathedral of Venice, St. Mark’s Basilica, with the richness of its marbles and mosaics; the Doge’s palace, fourteenth century building from where the ancient Venetian republic exerted the control over the city. THE DOGE’S PALACE AND SECRET TRAILS
The picturesque oriental walls of the Doge’s Palace enclosed two different and aspects of the same political organization: its magnificent public face with sumptuous halls of power, elegantly decorated with masterpieces by some of the greatest artists of Venetian painting, where foreign princes and ambassadors were welcomed on occasion, and alongside a parallel and scheming world, often hidden behind wooden panels, housing narrow offices, sinister prisons and the notorious torture chamber. CANNAREGIO AND JEWISH GHETTO
A unique walk through the popular neighbourhood of Cannaregio. This tour includes some monuments, palaces and churches in one of the ancient but richest area of the town. The famous Jewish Ghetto, the first in Europe. “Ghetto” is in fact a Venetian word meaning “foundry” because the Jewish quarter was built replacing a foundry. 4 HOUR WALKING TOUR OF VENICE
Having a private guide at their disposal for four hours clients could discover the most interesting itineraries of the city according to their interest. Our guide will discuss with them the itinerary and then the tour starts. A sample could be a nice walk from Saint Mark’s area with an historical introduction to the most powerful maritime empire of the Mediterranean Sea. The Doges’ Palace, the Square, the Basilica are highlights that must be seen for their beauty and historical importance. EXCURSION TO SAN FRANCESCO DEL DESERTO AND BURANO
The San Francesco del deserto island is recognizable by a small cypress wood in the middle of the lagoon between Burano and Sant’Erasmo. Since 1227 it has housed a friary founded by San Francesco d’Assisi on his way back from the Holy Land. It is here that the “Miracle of the birds” took place. The tout starts from the little church and small cloister and finishes with a stroll in the beautiful garden where you can see Burano, a little island world famous for pillow laces and coloured houses. Burano exists in a quiet and special intimacy of its own that has nothing to do with the chaos of Venice and still common to see fishermen repairing their traditional finish nets on the tiny streets.

THE FORTIFICATIONS IN THE LAGOON
The lagoon fortifications can only be reached with private boats: they offer a rarer view on Venice, usually out of reach of mass tourism. The fortification system of the lagoon of Venice includes: Forte Sant’Andrea /St. Andrews Fort), built in the second half of the XVI century, that rises at the Lido bocca di porto, the entrance of the lagoon. Definitely is the most suggestive and the part that contains the most history. Torre Massimiliana (Maximilian Tower) of Sant’Erasmo, built by Austrians during the second half of the XIX century; Forte Vecchio (Old Fort) of Treporti that sued to control the water access to the northern part of the lagoon.

SAN GIORGIO MAGGIORE ISLAND AND THE ARMENIAN MONASTERY IN SAN LAZZARO ISLAND
Looking at the lagoon, from St. Mark’s square, the white shape of a classical temple appears surrounded by the waters. It is San Giorgio Maggiore Church, one of the Palladian buildings in Venice, in San Giorgio island. Also known in the ancient times as the “cypresses island”, it was first a settlement of a Benedictine community. Far from the crowded St. Mark’s Square, the island offers a breathtaking sight from the top of the bell tower, the façade that Venice showed to her visitors coming from the sea. Then a little jewel of the lagoon, San Lazzaro degli Armeni, this island, dedicated to San Lazzaro, patron saint of the leprouses, was first a leper hospital. After a few centuries of decay, at the beginning of the 18th century, a community of Armenian monks, settled here. They turned the old buildings in a monastery so that the island became an incredible cultural centre, important for the collection of books and for the typography opened in 1789.

EXCURSION TO PADOVA, ASOLO AND THE VENETIAN VILLAS
This tour is a beautiful opportunity to enter the region that, for many centuries, belonged to the Republic of Venice. Starting from Venice you will visit some of the beautiful villas of the noble Venetian families built along the Brenta Canal, where they enjoyed summertime and also they got control over their possessions in the mainland. Then the lively Padova, with the ancient University, the colourful “Piazza delle Erbe” and the precious “Scrovegni Chapel” with the expressiveness of Giotto frescoes (this visit has to be reserved in advance). Asolo will be the next stop, an enchanting town set in a mild landscape of hills. It was the court of Caterina Cornaro, Queen of Cyprus, and the favourite retreat for the famous Eleonora Duse and Ernest Hemingway. Before coming back to Venice, a last glance to the bucolic atmosphere in which the great master Palladio, built classical villas for the pleasure of Venetian nobles.

EXCURSION TO RAVENNA
This tour will guide you back to the past, starting from Venice, you will visit Chioggia, an old fishermen city, famous to have been one of the first enemy of the Republic for the supremacy on the Adriatic Sea. Then the little but still in good condition, Pomposa Abbey, before getting to Ravenna. It was an important spiritual and cultural centre created by the Benedictine community around the 10th century. Ravenna will welcome you with the splendour of her mosaics, so precious and unique to be in the UNESCO World Heritage list. You will see the “Neonian baptistery”, “St. Apollinare Nuovo Church”, and the “Teodorico Mausoleum”, all evidences of how this city was important and central during the kingdom of Teodorico, who symbolized the mixing of the Byzantine Empire and the Roman Empire.

EXCURSION TO VICENZA AND VERONA
In almost all cities of Veneto Region, you can find evidences of the most significant historical periods. In Vicenza, for example, the first stop of this tour, you will stroll in the beautiful historical centre, through “Corso Palladio” and “Piazza dei Signori” you will see two examples of the Palladian architecture, the Olympic Theatre, and Villa “La Rotonda”. Then, re-board your chauffeur driven car and proceed to Verona. In this pleasant city laid down the Adige River, it is possible to see the Roman “Arena”, the famous amphitheatre where in summertime classical operas are performed in open air, and medieval buildings as those in Piazza delle Erbe” or in “Piazza dei Signori”, the famous home of Juliet and the “Arco Scaligero”, the tombs of the Della Scala Family, the old Lords of the city.
